We are delighted to offer fresh Kentish grown Asparagus. The Asparagus has been carefully grown in Kent and is full of flavour. As a hearty and beneficial vegetable your body should react almost instantly to good asparagus on your plate. The asparagus comes thick, thin and in all shapes and sizes.
Perfect with a little butter or lightly cooked on a BBQ! Look at our recipe for wild garlic cobnut pesto, which works very well with asparagus and pasta.

Where is it from?
Following on from our successful partnership with our friends at a fellow Kentish farm to sell their delicious Rhubarb we are now delighted to offer their Kentish grown Asparagus. We are very glad to be able to offer this British and Kentish Asparagus as we know our customers love our Kentish produce when in season.
So we hope having more carefully sourced items from the Garden of England earlier in the year before our harvest is a win win.
Looking after your Asparagus
We keep the Asparagus chilled to lock in the freshness. When your bundle arrives if not putting to work straight away then keep it in the fridge. You will want to use this promptly. Remember you can cook up a meal with asparagus and then freeze which is a good option for meal planning.
- Please kindly note Asparagus Season and Cherry Season do not cross-over. If pre-ordering cherries and buying asparagus please order separately so the asparagus can be delivered in season or select 2 delivery charges at the checkout.

A mouth watering stone fruit more often associated with hotter countries. These Kentish grown Flat Peaches are not to be missed! Full of juice they quite obviously stand out from imported flat peaches. Grown on our friends farm just 10 minutes from Roughway as a trial we are delighted to share this exciting new UK fruit with our customers.
Sent firm where possible so allow time to ripen. Refrigeration is always recommended.
Important Message Before Ordering – Peaches mark very easily, often on the tree before they even get picked. They leave pressure marks on each other and the most juicy peaches can also get what look like bruises at the top while the rest of the peach is firm, these peaches are often the best – they are the most juicy and sweetest. So please be aware before ordering that we send these peaches and look at the photos provided of the common marks.

Following on from Forced Rhubarb season we have partnered again with our friends at a fellow Kentish farm to sell their delicious outdoor Rhubarb. Grown outdoors in Kent this Rhubarb is perfect for crumbles, jams, gins and all manner of foodie delights.
The rhubarb comes chopped and will come in a range of sizes. Some very thick bits and some thinner. There may be some dry splits (split and marking) but this does not impact the flavour, particularly as it is cooked.
Currently Available in weights of 1kg, 2kg, 3kg, 4kg, 5kg, 6kg, 7kg, 8kg and 10kg.
The outdoor Rhubarb season slows in June-August.

You will have around 1 week with it being at its best but do monitor. Rhubarb is quite hardy and so if you leave it a bit too long then it is worth trying to cook with it so it doesn’t go to waste. Rhubarb can be chopped and frozen.

We have partnered with our friends at a fellow Kentish farm to sell their delicious Forced Rhubarb. At Roughway we love sharing our fresh produce with you but after trying our friends Rhubarb we had to share this seasonal delight. Grown in Kent this Rhubarb is perfect for crumbles, jams, gins and all manner of foodie delights for the Winter season.
Forced Rhubarb is normally thinner than the unforced and it produces these extra thin and elegant stems which outdoor does not. Our bundles of Tender Stem Forced Rhubarb taste delicious, they are thinner sticks than you would find in the supermarkets but there is no difference in flavour or quality. In fact we have found the smaller stems cook slightly faster and you still get bright pink juice and the sticks crumble nicely.
Other Information – The Forced Rhubarb Season usually runs from December to March. Tunnelled rhubarb runs from March to May and outdoor from April/June and forced picks up again in December.
You are ordering British Rhubarb with the leaf. This ensures freshness, longevity and greater flavour but remember to cut these off when they arrive. Forced Rhubarb is grown in the dark.
We may occasionally need to cut off the leaf or shorten the rhubarb before dispatch. This is most often due to vigorous growth making them too long for box dispatch.
