Succulent, unique and an excellent conversation starter around the dinner table. Greengages are a really special treat this time of year, their deliciously succulent taste is perfect on its own but also in a variety of dishes. Distinctly different in flavour to many plum varieties greengages are a real seasonal treat. We would describe the flavour as gloriously reminiscent of honey but with a lovely fruity freshness.

Enjoy the delicious taste of British Greengages by ordering directly from Roughway Farm. Currently Available in weights of 2kg and 3kg. Heavier weights available here

If ordering with another item, the whole order will be dispatched together when the preorder element is ready.

Looking after your fruit: Some greengages may arrive firm. Allow firm greengages to ripen at room temperature. Once ripe or if they arrive ripe keep refrigerated in salad draw if not enjoying your greengage straight away.

History:

What to do with your greengages

They are fantastic fresh but if you want to cook with them they make excellent and quite sort-after jam. They also are incredibly moreish in a crumble or tart. We have two excellent recipes to make a Jam and a Chutney. View our recipes here.
