The green skin has been removed. Some skin remanence may remain.
Walnuts should be kept cool to prevent the kernel (the bit you eat) excessively drying if you like them fresher and milkier. Otherwise leave them to dry to sweeten. Most walnuts on the market have been dried, ours are picked fresh and then naturally dry. Our walnuts are available in weights ranging from 500g to 10kg.

They provide about 0.4mg and 0.55mg of vitamins B1 and B6 respectively per 100g dry weight.
Our gift bags are available in bags of 250g, 500g or 1kg. To preserve the moisture in the nuts you should consider refrigeration or keep them in cool location. If your recipient likes milky kernels you could store the nuts in the salad draw and then place back into the gift bag when gifting.Â

Our fresh Green/Golden Gunslebert Cobnuts are now available for pre-order. The Gunslebert is a variety of hazelnut that has a unique and enjoyable flavour. As a nut the Gunslebert is more rounded than the Kent Cob and also has a frilly husk. As a nut they can be eaten fresh or used in dishes.
Our Gunslebert Cobnuts are available in weights ranging from 500g to 20kg and are harvested between September and October.

Greengages are a really special treat this time of year, their deliciously succulent taste is perfect on its own but also in a variety of dishes. Distinctly different in flavour to many plum varieties greengages are a real seasonal treat.

Looking after your fruit: Some greengages may arrive firm. Allow firm greengages to ripen at room temperature. Once ripe or if arrive ripe keep refrigerated in salad draw if not enjoying straight away.
History:
‘Green Gages’ were named after Sir William Gage, 7th Baronet, they were first imported by Sir William into Britain in 1724 and became established as a luxury fruit. Greengages were later established in the newly independent USA and grown by George Washington. A significant number of cultivars have been established in the UK ranging from Cambridge Gage to Laxton’s Supreme.

What to do with your greengages

The Ennis is a large, round and flavoursome cobnut. When green Ennis Cobnuts have tight green husks. As a nut they can be eaten fresh or used in dishes. They are popular due to their size in comparison to the Kent Cob and the Gunslebert. Ennis Cobnuts are usually in short supply so don’t miss out!
Our Ennis Cobnuts are available in weights ranging from 500g to 3kg and are harvested between October – November. Ennis is a later variety of cobnut.
