Our original Kentish Apple Juice is a celebration of the apple. Pressed from the apples that grow on the loamy and fertile slopes of Roughway, this juice reflects the dedication and passion that is required to grow the most succulent apples. Each bottle show’s the contours of the land that produced the apples for our juice.
This juice is a perfect gift and a fine option to bring to parties, particularly for those who want an alternative to wine, beer and spirits.
This juice has been carefully pressed from our Braeburn Apples to produce a crisp and sophisticated apple juice. This juice is all about the refreshing apple flavour and not simply sweetness. The tangy and floral afternotes create a juice that is very refreshing and enjoyable.
Described as ‘a juice for adults’ the juice should be chilled and served in a wine glass. The juice is also incredibly good with ice and is a perfect match for gin.
The juice is available in 750ml bottles. The juice has no added sugar and is not from concentrate. We send the bottles in protective wrap and card boxes. The delivery cost is fixed and is the same for one bottle and 12 bottles.

Succulent, unique and an excellent conversation starter around the dinner table. Greengages are a really special treat this time of year, their deliciously succulent taste is perfect on its own but also in a variety of dishes. Distinctly different in flavour to many plum varieties greengages are a real seasonal treat. We would describe the flavour as gloriously reminiscent of honey but with a lovely fruity freshness.

If ordering with another item, the whole order will be dispatched together when the preorder element is ready.

Dehusked Kent Cobnut Gift Bags – 2025 Season
Our cobnut gift bags are the perfect present for anyone who loves cobnuts at Christmas and nuts generally. Our gift bags come in weights of 250g, 500g and 1kg. The bags are perfectly reusable and have a drawstring that seals the bag. If you want an original, rural and wholesome gift this is the answer!
Our delicious Dehusked Kent Cobnuts are full of flavour and are perfect in dishes or simply on their own. We like roasting them and dipping them in dark chocolate! Dehusked Kent Cobnuts become darker during the season.
Cobnuts have a nationally recognised nutritional profile and are said to be fantastic sources of protein:
Cobnut kernels typically contain 12%-17% protein by dry weight, and about 10%-15% fibre. Cobnuts are very rich in vitamin E and in calcium, typically containing about 21mg and 141mg per 100g kernel (dry weight) respectively. They provide about 0.4mg and 0.55mg of vitamins B1 and B6 respectively per 100g dry weight.
Our gift bags are available in a 250g, 500g or 1kg. Please be aware that dehusked nuts still have a shell.Â
Want to know what to do with dehusked cobnuts? Look at our recipes. From Biscotti to pesto we have a tasty idea or two.
Please also note that all our cobnut gift bags are labelled ‘Kent Cobnuts’ even when ordering a different variety gift bag.
Gift Bag Storage Advise: Please note that we keep our cobnuts cool to keep the kernels in good condition. The cooling from storage and during transport can mean the cobs get a bit damp. If this occurs then please air and dry the cobnuts and then place back in the bag once dry. We recommend keeping cobs in the salad draw to keep the kernels larger but do not place the cloth bag in the fridge. If you like sweeter cobs then do not put in the fridge, just leave out to dry and sweeten but be aware if too hot the kernels will dry rapidly. So do not put next to a heater.

Red Squirrel Cobnut Mix / Squirrel Feed – Â Now Dispatching New Season Husked and Dehusked 2025 stock
Roughway Farm has supplied cobnuts for Red Squirrel conservation projects across the UK for over 50 years. From Cornwall to the Scottish Highlands our cobs have been enjoyed by our native squirrels.
Our red squirrel cobnuts are mixed cobnut varieties that are suited for squirrel consumption. Our squirrel nuts vary in terms of size and appearance. Our squirrel nuts are all grown in Kent and are certainly enjoyed by the squirrels!
We currently sell a range of weights from smaller packets for home use in gardens to larger bulk quantities in 20kg boxes. Please note we now place all sack orders in boxes due to a request from our courier. If you want a larger order please email and we are happy to organise.
Our Squirrel Cobnuts are harvested between September and October each year.
Please keep in mind that our cobs are kept cool to keep the kernels in good condition. This means that husked nuts in particular can be a little damp late season (Late Nov- March) and so should be allowed to air on arrival. The dehusked nuts by December and into the new year are generally drier and are preferred by some customers for handling and appearance. The squirrels however are happy with both.
If you want British sourced Squirrel food then we recommend buying from Roughway.

This product is not extensively sorted to keep costs low. These nuts are not recommended for human consumption due to storage and the ranging quality and size.
For orders of over 140kg we recommend emailing store@roughwayfarm.co.uk

Kent Cobnut Trees – Out of stock – Get notified by email – select quantity and add emailÂ
They are available to collect by appointment or delivery. They are bare root and will be without a pot. These trees have been propagated on our own heritage Kent Cobnut trees some of which are 100 years old. This was featured on Marcus Wareing’s tales from the Kitchen garden. These are whips / clones from the heritage mother trees and so should be ideal for producing the Kent Cob variety.
Many garden centres currently sell seedling trees and these usually yield very few cobnuts. These trees are the same trees that we grow on the farm and if properly maintained should produce a good crop of Kent Cobnuts.
They are suitable for planting most places in the UK. Two varieties are deemed preferable for pollination but not essential as common hedge row nut can assist with pollination. We cannot guarantee the size of the trees selected for delivery but every care is taken to select a good tree.
Cobnuts are packed full of vitamins, minerals and fibre. In winter the catkins on the trees brighten up the trees.
We can offer paid for consultation for large field plantings and management. Please email us if you want more than 10 trees.
All trees are different. Their roots, branches, shape vary. So images are only an indication of what the tree will look like.
We advise watering and planting promptly into the ground (if not saturated) or into a large pot for later planting if required. The pot should have room to allow further root growth. The tree will need a healthy watering over the first few days.
If planting make sure that the root ball is level and not at an angle. Water regularly and monitor. Do avoid planting if the ground is totally saturated and wait until drier, perhaps store in a pot during this time. You may need to purchase or make a tree guard ifor protection in the first 4 years.
The aim after this point will be to manage the growth of branches. These should be allowed to form at least 60cm from the ground. As we are now offering 2ft-3ft (61cm-91cm) whips we have begun this for you.
A useful pruning and management guide is available from the Kent Cobnut Association. Click Here
