Dehusked Gunslebert Cobnut – Out of stock – Get a 2026 seasonal stock notification by selecting weight and adding email
Our Dehusked Gunslebert Cobnuts are now available. The Gunslebert is a variety of hazelnut that has a unique and enjoyable flavour. As a nut the Gunslebert is more rounded than the Kent Cob and when green has a frilly husk. As a nut they can be eaten fresh or used in dishes.
Dehusked cobnuts should be kept cool to prevent the kernel (nut) drying. A salad draw is an ideal place for storage.
Want to know what to do with dehusked cobnuts? Look at our recipes. From Biscotti to pesto we have a tasty idea or two.
Our Gunslebert Cobnuts are available in weights ranging from 500g to 10kg and are harvested between September and October.

500g – 3Kg: Dehusked Mixed Cobnuts
Dehusked Mixed Variety Cobnuts – Out of stock
Our main cobnut varieties are Kent, Gunslebert, Ennis and Butler but we actually have over 50 different cobnut varieties in our National Collection. Some varieties will come from a single tree while others may be from a row or small block.
We are delighted to now offer the opportunity for a completely mixed bag. No order will be the same and the cobnuts will be very different to each other (some nuts will be very small, some will have more felt / skin around the kernel). We recommend these for those passionate about cobnuts, keen to taste a range of flavours and tastes. If you are new to cobnuts we really recommend trying our main varieties first.
Dehusked cobnuts should be kept cool to prevent the kernel (the bit you eat) excessively drying. A salad draw is an ideal place for storage. These mixed varieties have mixed moisture content so some will be quite dry with smaller kernels while others will be more milky. This is in part because small varieties don’t have much moisture originally and so can be a lot drier (but sometimes also sweeter). Our mixed cobnuts are available in weights ranging from 500g to 3kg.

Cobnuts have a nationally recognised nutritional profile and are said to be fantastic sources of protein:
Cobnut kernels typically contain 12%-17% protein by dry weight, and about 10%-15% fibre. Cobnuts are very rich in vitamin E and in calcium, typically containing about 21mg and 141mg per 100g kernel (dry weight) respectively. They provide about 0.4mg and 0.55mg of vitamins B1 and B6 respectively per 100g dry weight.
Our gift bags are available in bags of 250g, 500g or 1kg. To preserve the moisture in the nuts you should consider refrigeration or keep them in cool location. If your recipient likes milky kernels you could store the nuts in the salad draw and then place back into the gift bag when gifting.
Want to know what to do with dehusked cobnuts? Look at our recipes. From Biscotti to pesto we have a tasty idea or two.
Please also note that all our cobnut gift bags are labeled ‘Kent Cobnuts’ even when ordering a different variety gift bag.

Fresh Kentish Quince 2kg-8kg
Fresh Kentish Quince – Out of stock – Join 2026 harvest notification list – Select weight and add email below
Quinces have a lovely aromatic flavour that is almost citrus. They have the texture of pear and need to be cooked. They can be made into jelly and a range of other items. The astringent nature of quinces means they can be used in savoury dishes.
We like blending quince with apple as it adds an extra punch to a crumble or pie. Quince can also be made into a range of alcohol such as liqueur
Quince as been associated with helping digestion.
Quinces are likely to be marked and very ‘back to basics’ as some trees are very old, receive no interventions and are dotted around the farm opposed to being commercially planned and harvested like our apples for example. Markings on quinces are common and do not usually matter as they are a tough fruit for cooking and processing – the skin is also normally removed for consumption.
Quinces can also have a fur on them which is natural and like markings the prevalence of this varies year to year, it can be washed or wiped off easily. It is best to remove the tough skin of the quince which can be tricky to do with a knife, but easier with a vegetable peeler. Some recommend lightly cooking before removing the skin.
Delivery
Our fresh fruit one day delivery service currently operates in mainland England and Wales from Monday to Friday*. Preorders are dispatched on harvest. If ordering with an item that is not ready your order will be dispatched together.
Please add a note to your order if you are planning in advance and want your fruit by a specific day.

The outdoor Rhubarb season slows in June-August.

Looking after your Rhubarb
We keep the Rhubarb chilled to lock in the freshness. When your bundle arrives if not putting to work straight away then keep it in the fridge. You will have around 1 week with it being at its best but do monitor. Rhubarb is quite hardy and so if you leave it a bit too long then it is worth trying to cook with it so it doesn’t go to waste. Rhubarb can be chopped and frozen.

Cherry Pitter
If you want a quick method of removing the stones from our fresh cherries then a cherry pitter might be just the tool. The Zyliss Cherry & Olive Pitter helps you to quickly and effortlessly remove the pits / stones from cherries with one squeeze and collects juice and stones cleanly in its internal reservoir.
Perfect for those wanting to cook and create with cherries. Also for those who want to enjoy a bowl of cherries without a bowl for the stones.

Kent Cobnut Trees
Kent Cobnut Trees – Out of stock – Get notified by email – select quantity and add email
They are available to collect by appointment or delivery. They are bare root and will be without a pot. These trees have been propagated on our own heritage Kent Cobnut trees some of which are 100 years old. This was featured on Marcus Wareing’s tales from the Kitchen garden. These are whips / clones from the heritage mother trees and so should be ideal for producing the Kent Cob variety.
Many garden centres currently sell seedling trees and these usually yield very few cobnuts. These trees are the same trees that we grow on the farm and if properly maintained should produce a good crop of Kent Cobnuts.
They are suitable for planting most places in the UK. Two varieties are deemed preferable for pollination but not essential as common hedge row nut can assist with pollination. We cannot guarantee the size of the trees selected for delivery but every care is taken to select a good tree.
Cobnuts are packed full of vitamins, minerals and fibre. In winter the catkins on the trees brighten up the trees.
We can offer paid for consultation for large field plantings and management. Please email us if you want more than 10 trees.
All trees are different. Their roots, branches, shape vary. So images are only an indication of what the tree will look like.
We advise watering and planting promptly into the ground (if not saturated) or into a large pot for later planting if required. The pot should have room to allow further root growth. The tree will need a healthy watering over the first few days.
If planting make sure that the root ball is level and not at an angle. Water regularly and monitor. Do avoid planting if the ground is totally saturated and wait until drier, perhaps store in a pot during this time. You may need to purchase or make a tree guard ifor protection in the first 4 years.
The aim after this point will be to manage the growth of branches. These should be allowed to form at least 60cm from the ground. As we are now offering 2ft-3ft (61cm-91cm) whips we have begun this for you.
A useful pruning and management guide is available from the Kent Cobnut Association. Click Here
